Duties and Responsibilities
Plan the “checklist”: Decide what needs to be tested in the web app so everything works smoothly.
Play the detective: Actively look for mistakes, glitches, or things that aren’t working as intended.
Test in different ways: Make sure new features work (functional testing), old features still work after changes (regression testing), and the site runs fast and well (performance testing).
Talk to the app’s brain: Test the behind-the-scenes communication between the app and its servers (REST API testing).
Team up with builders: Work closely with the people making the app (developers) and those designing it (UI/UX) to ensure users have a smooth experience.
Teach robots to test (optional): Write automated tests so a computer can quickly repeat common checks.
Keep the lab clean: Maintain the systems, test accounts, and sample data used for testing.
Improve the way testing is done: Suggest and introduce better methods or tools for faster, smarter testing.
Work closely to fix issues: Help developers understand and solve problems you find.
